CARLSBAD, Calif., (June 16, 2009)
– Veteran dirt bike racer Nick Wey
(Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing) put up his best race of the 2009 summer
outdoor national season, racing to a 7th-10th two-moto finish for 7th place
overall at Pennsylvania’s High Point Raceway, round four of the Lucas Oil
AMA MX Nationals.
Wey, who’s
previous best finish this season was a 12th at Hangtown, broke into the top ten overall in the
series’ premier class for the first time this season. “Busy week at
the Wey compound, but things went well and I was pumped to come back to High
Point and race,” said Wey, referring to his race effort and the
birth of he and wife Nicole’s second child, a boy named Vincent
Alexander. “Pulled a good start in the first moto
and was able to put two top ten finishes together.”
Wey’s work at High Point drew him to
within two points of the top ten overall, a position he’ll most certainly
overtake due to the fact the current 10th place
racer, Dan Reardon, was banged up at High Point and will likely be out for the
next race. Wey trails Reardon by two points, 68-66, for the tenth and final top
10 position in the 450 class.
Wey’s Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster
Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing’s teammate, Max Anstie, just missed making the top 15 at High Point,
going 14-36 for 18th in
the 250 class.
Next up for the Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing
team is this the Lakewood, Colo., round on June 27th.
