ANAHEIM, Calif., (Jan. 14, 2004) - Suzuki factory rider Nick Wey was back in a familiar spot - among the leaders - in the 2004 THQ/AMA Supercross Series this past weekend with a hard-fought sixth place finish at Phoenix's Bank One Ballpark on Saturday.

With the finish Wey moved into the 11th spot overall early in the season, only several points out of a top seven spot.

Wey on this weekend's race at Anaheim's Edison International Field - Round Three of the THQ/AMA Supercross Series: "I got rammed at the first Anaheim and lost my back brake, which is why we didn't do so well there (15th). I felt up to speed at both races, but I feel there's still some room for improvement. I'll keep racing consistently, moving up in the standings and hope to be within striking distance of the guys at the top by the time we hit the Midwest rounds."

Last year at Anaheim Two Wey finished a respectable sixth in the 250cc main aboard a privateer bike.

Next week Wey and the Suzuki Factory team travel down the I-5 from Anaheim to San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium for Round Four of the 2004 THQ/AMA Supercross Series.
