Former 125 class winner at Millville looking to improve upon
7-7 finish at previous round of AMA Motocross Championship, presented by FMF
CARLSBAD, Calif., (Aug. 11, 2005)
– Nick Wey of the Unbound Energy/MDK Motorsports team, who’s hanging amongst
the top ten in the overall 250 class points standings, takes his A-game to
Millville, Minnesota’s Spring Creek MX Park this weekend, Round Nine of the
2005 AMA Motocross Championship.
Coming off a solid 7-7
(8th o/a) performance at Washougal two weeks ago, Wey is charged up to race
Millville – the site of this lone AMA National win in 1999.
“Always good to come
back and race Millville,” said Wey. “Lots of good memories here.”
The consistent Wey
currently trails factory-backed Michael Byrne (Kawasaki) for 8th place overall
by 29 points, with Byrner’s teammate – James Stewart – lurking a bit behind in
10th. Still, with a solid finish at Millville, Wey should have no problem
remaining in the top ten despite missing two complete races due to pre-season
knee surgery.
“Not much I can do
about the other racers, so I’ll just need to focus on getting a good start,
race mistake-free and be there in the end,” said Wey. “Hopefully the fans will
get to see a good battle, like the one I had with (Travis) Preston at RedBud or
with (John) Dowd at Lakewood. Always a good crowd at Millville.”
Unbound Energy is now available in
16 oz. cans at BP and am/pm retail locations, with more locations and
Sugar-Free Unbound coming soon.
