VRM:

VRM:

Nick how did things go for you last weekend at Unadilla?

Nick Wey:

Not real good, I was trying to be a tough guy and not run any hand guards on my bike. I ended up getting one of my fingers smashed by a rock that got kicked up!

The finger that got smashed was my finger I always use on the clutch and that made it hard to ride up to my potential. This week before Troy, I had to take a couple of days off to rest my finger to let it heal up. Toward the end of the week, I was able to ride a little bit and get in some practice. My finger is still pretty sore, so I have been trying to use my other finger to operate the clutch. I just hope to ride hard and get a good finish here at Troy, OH.

VRM:

In the past how have you finished at the Troy National?

Nick Wey:

I have always ridden pretty well here. Last year, I got 5th in the first Moto, but crashed in the second Moto I just need to get a good start, as it can be hard to pass here at Troy.

VRM:

Nick, there has been quite a few rumors floating around as to who you might be riding for next year in 2002. Have you decided which team you will be on?

Nick Wey:

I have been talking to a few different Teams, but at this time I have not decided whom I will sign with. I will let VRM know as soon as my plans are finalized.

VRM:

Nick had a tough day at Troy battling through the pack from starts out of the top 20 in each Moto. Nick ended up finishing 13th in both the 1st and 2nd Motos to finish 12th Overall for the day. Nick had the pace of the top five riders, but just needed a better start to show what he really could do.
