Big Prizes Await Top-Finishing Privateers in Amp’d
“Nick
has raised the bar for the privateers competing in Amp’d Mobile World
Supercross GP,” said Todd Jendro, senior director of supercross, Amp’d Mobile
Supercross. “Throughout the season he has finished on the podium twice in one
of the most competitive seasons ever. He has proved that he can race with the
top factory riders and has positioned himself within the top five after
"Coming into
the season it was definitely one of my intentions to be in the running for the
top privateer award," said Wey. "Top privateer honors have been
prestigious in the past, and I am glad to be in the hunt for this position.
This year I've had a few top five finishes, a couple top threes and would be
pretty pumped to take home that Weekend Warrior trailer, the US Smokeless
Tobacco money and the Toyota Truck - not to mention the generous prize money
from Live Nation.”
“Nick Way is a
talented rider and a great competitor, so it’s appropriate that the privateer
Toyota Tundra will end up in his garage,” said Doug Frisbie, manager, events
and promotions for Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., Inc. “Supporting the privateers
is a huge part of Toyota’s involvement with Supercross. It’s great to help a rider like Nick move
forward in his career.”
“What an
outstanding season for the pro privateers,” said Jody Deal, brand manager,
USSTC. “The pro privateers have done a tremendous job of battling the
factory-backed riders for the podium positions throughout the Amp’d Mobile
World Supercross GP.”
