VRM:

Nick can you sum up how the Motocross Season has gone this year?

Nick Wey:

I not very happy about how the season has gone as a whole, but I have been riding much better the last few races since Millville. I am hoping to put in a good ride here at Steel City because things are still up in the air as to whom I am going to ride for next season. I have a couple of good offers out there, but I am still undecided as to whom I will ride for in 2002. I think I could have done a little better during the Outdoor Season, but it took me a little longer to get used to riding the Yamaha YZ125. I wish the season were starting over again right now as we have the bike working great!

VRM:

Nick what do you attribute the improvement in your finishes to these past few races?

Nick Wey:

Before Millville I went back to California and did a lot of testing to get the bike set up better. At Millville, I finished 6th and 8th in the motos there, which was a good improvement over how I had been finishing. I expect to finish in the top 10 today here at Steel City!

VRM:

Nick are you invited to the US Open of Supercross and are you going to race?

Nick Wey:

I am invited and I am definitely planning to race at the US Open. The US Open will be my last time riding for Yamaha of Troy. I am building a new Supercross practice track at my house to prepare for the US Open and the 2002 Supercross Season.

VRM:

Are you a gambling man?

Nick Wey:

No, I have never really gambled at a Casino. I might try a little Black Jack when I am out in Vegas.

VRM:

Do you want to thank anybody that helped you out this year?

Nick Wey:

I want to thank every one at Yamaha of Troy for providing me with great bikes and excellent support. I want to say thank you to my family and friends who have supported me all year long. I also want to thank VRM for the excellent website they have provided me with this year!

VRM:

Nick finished 7th overall at Steel City, which was the final event of the year.  Nick will be riding 250’s next year and VRM knows he’ll be the surprise of the season.  Visit Nick’s site in the future to find out whom Nick will be riding for in 2002.
