VRM:

Virtually Real Motocross interviewed Nick Wey before the start of the Anaheim Supercross to get some info on Nick's new Team and what he has been up to get prepared for the Supercross Season.

Nick Wey:

The new Team I will be riding for is called Moto XXX. The main sponsors of the Team are Moto XXX, DGY Motorsports, Maxxis Tires, and O'neal. I will be riding the 250 Supercross Class and the 250 during the Outdoor

Nationals for 2002. My goal for the 250 Supercross series is to finish in the Top 7 in the Championship Points standings for the season. I am shooting to finish in the top 5 at least once during the season and hopefully several more times. In the Outdoor Nationals, I plan on being in the top 10 every race and hopefully the top 5 at a few races.

VRM:

What have you been doing to prepare for the Supercross Series?

Nick Wey:

I have been doing a lot of training riding my bicycle and running. I have been hitting the gym doing some weight training to improve my strength. Steve Matthes (my mechanic) and I have been doing a ton of testing

and riding to get my bike and myself prepared for the Supercross Series.

VRM:

Who do think will win the 250 Supercross Series?

Nick Wey:

I think Ricky will win the 250 Supercross Championship because he was riding so fast last year. In the 125 West Supercross Series, I hope Matt Walker can win the championship.

VRM:

What is the toughest section of the Anaheim track?

Nick Wey:

The whoops are definitely the hardest section on the track!

VRM:

Nick got a poor start in the 250 Main, but he rode a smooth race to finish 7th Overall. Nick's goal was to finish in the top 7 and he accomplished that goal. Don't be surprised in the near future to see Nick finish in the top 5 Overall.
